IPOH: Datuk Rumaizi Baharin has advised motorists not to use the uncompleted new road connecting Meru Raya and Klebang. According to the Ipoh City Council mayor, the road will only be officially opened on Aug 15. Rumaizi said he has received reports that vehicles have been using the road despite the barricades being removed. He emphasized that if anything were to happen, the council would not be held responsible for it. He urged drivers to wait until the road is fully completed and officially opened.
The new road, which cost RM7.2 million and started construction last year, is intended to shorten the travel time between Meru and Klebang. It is also expected to help alleviate traffic congestion at Chemor town. Despite 98% completion of the project, there is still 2% of work left to be done.
In conclusion, Rumaizi Baharin urged motorists to prioritize their safety and refrain from using the uncompleted road. He emphasized that the council is not liable for any incidents that may occur. Once the construction is fully completed, the road will be officially opened on Aug 15.
