CAIRO: Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated that he and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi are in agreement that Western nations should put pressure on the Israeli regime to stop its attacks on Gaza. Both leaders also agreed that public facilities in Gaza, such as schools and hospitals, should not be targeted and destroyed by the Israeli regime, according to Anwar.

“The sufferings of the people of Gaza are at a critical level. And that was what we agreed upon during the discussion (with El-Sisi),” he told Malaysian media during a press conference at the end of his two-day working visit to Egypt on Monday (Oct 23).
Anwar emphasized that the Egyptian government is currently making significant efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, and Malaysia will cooperate and support these actions.

The Prime Minister further stated that Malaysia will continue to attempt to contact Western and Eastern countries in order to encourage them to take action for the sake of peace and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the troubled region. – Bernama
