KUALA LUMPUR: Muafakat Nasional supreme council member Datuk Tuan Faisal Ismail Aziz and four others have arrived at the Dang Wangi police headquarters.
The group arrived at the police headquarters at approximately 2.30pm. Tuan Faisal, who is one of the organizers of the “Save Malaysia” rally, is among the five individuals.
According to sources, they are filing a report to urge the government to press charges against Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Ahmad Zahid had been granted a discharge not amounting to an acquittal by the High Court for all 47 corruption charges related to Yayasan Akalbudi funds. This decision came after Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar requested for the charges against Zahid to be dropped at the beginning of the hearings on September 4.
According to a statement from Zahid’s lawyers, the Attorney General’s Chambers had accepted a letter from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on February 20, 2023, requesting a review of the charges against Ahmad Zahid.
More updates will be provided soon.
