KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) candidates contesting in the Aug 12 state elections will be required to declare their assets, according to Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, the party president.
He emphasized that asset declaration is mandatory for all Muda members participating in the elections. To be considered for nomination as candidates, party members must first declare their assets by obtaining the necessary forms from the president.
Muda has announced its intention to field a total of 20 candidates in the upcoming polls. Specifically, there will be 14 candidates in Selangor, three in Penang, two in Negri Sembilan, and one in Terengganu.
The state elections, scheduled for August 12, have been set by the Election Commission for Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Penang, Selangor, and Negri Sembilan. Early voting will take place on August 8. – Bernama
