PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian United Democratic Alliance Party (Muda) has presented a practical election manifesto called the Muda Black Paper II for next month’s state polls, according to Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
The Muda president stated that the manifesto, launched on July 20, offers ideas, solutions, and proposals for the improvement of any party that will lead the state governments.
“Muda’s approach is realistic because we are aware that it is impossible for us to take over any state, as we are only contesting less than 10% of the total seats. Therefore, we aim to outline ideas and suggestions for improvements that can be highlighted,” Syed Saddiq said during the manifesto launch at the party’s main operations room in PETALING JAYA.
Muda intends to present this manifesto as its solution. Syed Saddiq mentioned that although they may not have the majority to form a government, they can still represent the people and propose ideas and improvements at the state assembly.
The manifesto focuses on four main points aligned with Muda’s “new politics” agenda: Pro-people, Transparent and Inclusive administrative institutions at the state level; giving voice to the youth; digitalization of the economy and government services; and environmental protection.
The state polls in Selangor, Kedah, Penang, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Negri Sembilan will take place on Aug 12. Nominations are set for July 29, with early voting on Aug 8. – Bernama
