The Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court has scheduled a hearing on November 23 for Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s application to have his passport permanently released to him. Judge Azura Alwi fixed this date after objections were raised by the prosecution on October 25.

During the proceedings, Deputy Public Prosecutor Nor Asma Ahmad informed the court that more time is required to respond to Muhyiddin’s application. She stated that the prosecution was served notice of the application on October 17 and requested two weeks to file their affidavit in response.

In March, Muhyiddin, who is facing four counts of abuse of power totaling RM232.5 million and two counts of money laundering involving RM195 million, was granted bail of RM2 million with two sureties.

The prosecution team initially proposed bail of RM2 million with two sureties and an additional condition that Muhyiddin surrender his passport to the court. This condition was not objected to by Muhyiddin’s lawyer, Datuk K. Kumaraendran.

    More information will be provided.
