    Murder suspects crash into Johor palace gate while high on drugs

    A man has been arrested after crashing into the front gate of Istana Besar and two other vehicles in Johor Baru while driving under the influence of drugs. The accident occurred at 5.28am on Friday, October 27, at KM2.8 Jalan Skudai, Pantai Lido. Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat stated that the driver, a foreigner in his 20s, lost control of the car and skidded into the opposite lane at a junction. Two other passengers were also in the car.

    The car collided with two other vehicles and crashed into the front gate of Istana Besar. A urine test conducted on the suspect revealed the presence of methamphetamine. The suspect and the two other passengers sustained minor injuries, while the two other drivers were unharmed. The accident resulted in damage to the front gate of the palace. The case is being investigated under Section 44(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

    Earlier, three individuals were arrested under the influence of drugs and are believed to be suspects in a murder case. The police received information about a fight involving sharp objects resulting in the death of a local man in the Johor Baru area at around 3.41am on Friday. The victim had stab wounds on various body parts, including the chest, stomach, ribcage, shoulder, back, fingers, and cheek. The cause of the fight is still under investigation.

    The police later located the three suspects in a car along Jalan Tanjung Puteri. While attempting to approach the suspects, the driver of the car fled and lost control near the Istana Besar. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act.
