MYAirline has issued a warning to customers to be cautious of individuals pretending to be company representatives reaching out about refunds. The low-cost carrier stated that there have been reports of people falsely claiming to be MYAirline representatives and contacting customers who are awaiting refunds for their flight bookings following the suspension of the airline last month.

The scammers use various methods, including phone calls, emails, and messages on social media platforms, in an attempt to deceive customers into providing personal information or making payments under false pretenses. To prevent potential scams, MYAirline advised customers to verify the source when receiving communication regarding refunds, such as checking for official email addresses or contact numbers associated with MYAirline. The statement also mentioned that official communications from MYAirline will be from the myairline.my domain.

MYAirline also cautioned its customers against disclosing personal information, such as personal or financial details, to any unverified sources claiming to be from MYAirline. The statement urged customers to report any suspicious communication or fraudulent behavior immediately to MYAirline’s official customer support channels or relevant authorities.

For further assistance or inquiries regarding refunds or any concerns, customers are encouraged to reach out to MYAirline’s official customer service channels via [email protected] or call the airline on +603 8966 2522.

On October 12, MYAirline suspended its operations indefinitely and advised affected passengers with booked tickets to seek alternative travel arrangements. In November, Transport Minister Anthony Loke informed customers affected by the sudden suspension of MYAirline’s operations that they could request a refund through the “chargeback” process if their travel dates have passed.
