SUBANG JAYA: MYAirline’s Interim Accountable Executive, Datuk Seri Azharuddin Rahman, has announced that the company will provide refunds to all passengers and pay the salaries of its employees by the end of this year. Azharuddin stated that the company and its staff were unexpectedly abandoned by previous investors, without any prior notice. He also disclosed that MYAirline did not have a contingency plan in place before the investors withdrew, making it uncertain when the company will be able to resume operations.
“God willing, we will issue all the refunds and pay our employees’ salaries this year. This involves a total of 125,000 passengers and RM22 million worth of tickets purchased,” said Azharuddin. He empathized with the frustration experienced by everyone affected, expressing that they did not anticipate such a turn of events. The investors’ sudden withdrawal occurred on October 11 at 4.30pm, following discussions that took place a few days prior.
“However, at 4.30pm on October 11, they simply said ‘no deal’ and left us in a difficult situation,” Azharuddin added. During a press conference held at the MYAirline headquarters in Subang Jaya on Monday, October 16, he emphasized that he will not dwell on the matter any further.
