PETALING JAYA: Malaysians will need a MyDigital ID to log into the Road Transport Department’s mobile app starting from Oct 10.
In a message on the MyJPJ app, it said the single sign-on using the MyDigital ID would be implemented starting Oct 10.
“Please register on the MyDigital ID application to avoid any sign-in difficulty,” it said.
First announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in November last year, MyDigital ID is recognised nationally as a trusted form of digital identification management.
It is designed to provide secure authentication for online transactions and address vulnerabilities present in the existing online identity verification system.
Since then, MyDigital ID registration kiosks have been placed at 200 NRD branches, eight National Information Dissemination Centre branches and 357 Tealive outlets throughout the country and to date over 600,000 Malaysians have registered with MyDigital ID.
People can renew their driving licence and motor vehicle licence or road tax renewals via the MyJPJ mobile app.
