The Communications and Digital Ministry will make some minor improvements as part of the final preparations for the National Day 2023 celebrations this Thursday (Aug 31), says Fahmi Fadzil.
According to Fahmi, although he was satisfied with the dress rehearsal on Tuesday (Aug 29), there are certain matters that need to be improved for the smooth running of the parade. These include the timing of the parade contingents and the movement of Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) assets.
He emphasized the importance of timing between the contingents’ march-past, as a difference of one or two minutes will impact the military assets parade. He urged the contingents to be disciplined and adhere to the timing.
As the chairman of the National Day and Malaysia Day 2023 main committee, Fahmi stated that the final rehearsal went well and all parties were well-prepared for their performances, march-past, and air shows.
Fahmi mentioned that the full rehearsal on Tuesday was similar to the actual day of the event, with a large crowd present. The celebration has the theme “Malaysia Madani: Determination in Unity, Fulfilling Hope.”
Before the rehearsal, Fahmi met 600 schoolchildren to show his support and gratitude for their participation alongside 1,000 dancers and drummers from the National Department of Culture and Arts.
The march-past and parade on Aug 31 will involve 10 contingent components, including nationhood, economic, banking, telecommunication, creative industry and broadcast, community, national sports, well-being, and national security contingents. – Bernama
