FOLLOWING the successful satellite event Leaders Council Power Breakfast, 79% of C-suite attendees reported being satisfied with the outcome of this series. Thus, the stage was set for future attendees to gain valuable insights from distinguished, high-profile speakers representing diverse industries at The Leaders Council Summit.

With the theme “Navigating a Disrupted Future”, The Leaders Council Summit underscores the need for businesses to adapt and thrive in an era of unprecedented change. Scheduled for Sept 25-26 in Kuala Lumpur, the summit aims to address the challenges and opportunities facing businesses in a rapidly changing landscape.

The two-day premier summit provides a platform for industry leaders and stakeholders to converge and discuss emerging trends, exchange insights, and foster partnerships for innovation and sustainable growth.

Here’s a look at the panel sessions for the upcoming summit:

Overcoming supply chain disruptions through organisational finesse and resilience

Organisations must navigate the complex terrain of the current global and Malaysian economic landscapes.

“The theme’s timeliness cannot be overemphasised. I look forward to joining the conversation as leadership voices ring louder around unlocking resilience and growth amid disruption,” said Julian Neo, managing director of DHL Express Malaysia.

Adapting to rapid technology changes and innovation

“AI’s rapid progress demands rethinking business models, talent and culture. I’m excited to share my thoughts on how AI (artificial intelligence) can deliver real impact for people and organisations today,” said Laurence Si, managing director of Microsoft Malaysia.

Lee Meng Keong, East Asia managing director of SLB, said: “The energy transition is a generational challenge, requiring industry leaders to develop the next generation of visionaries and strategists to drive it forward.”

Excelling in corporate sustainability and ESG commitments

According to Siti Sulaiman, the first female country chair and senior vice-president of Shell Malaysia, aligning organisational aspirations with national and global objectives is crucial for sustainable success.

“As a Shell leader in Malaysia, it is incumbent upon me to drive and implement our Powering Progress strategy to become a net-zero emissions energy business by 2050, while ensuring that we continue to generate value for our shareholders, our customers and wider society.”

Johan Rozali-Walthooth, CEO and executive director of Bintang Capital Partners Bhd, believes the summit will offer a range of views on sustainability from thought leaders.

“It also represents an opportunity to shape the dialogue for this very important topic as it relates to Malaysia’s future,” he said.

Global dilemma unravelled, mastering vital trade and export challenges

Businesses need to cultivate robust international partnerships, navigate trade regulations and implement agile supply chain strategies to combat the fluidity of the current trade market.

Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai, founder and executive chairman of Top Glove Corporation Bhd, said: “We not only must know, but must do, and must teach. By embracing the power of tiny gains, we can achieve remarkable progress.

Together, we can navigate the challenges of a disruptive future as tough times create strong men.”

Achieving diversity and inclusivity: Board and talent

This session discusses transformative shifts toward diversity and inclusion, marked by innovative hiring strategies, leadership initiatives and a renewed commitment to fostering inclusive workplace cultures.
