Senator Dr Zulkifli Hasan (pic) stated that close to half a million ringgit have been distributed to flood victims in various states since the start of the monsoon season in November last year. As the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), he expressed his hope that the aid will help ease the burden faced by the evacuees during this challenging period.

He also mentioned that the aid has been provided to flood victims in Kelantan, Pahang, Terengganu, Selangor, and Johor as an additional assistance apart from the support given by the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma).

“The assistance is in the form of food items and personal hygiene kits, and has been distributed by 14 agencies under the ministry,” he added, emphasizing that the program is still ongoing. Senator Dr Zulkifli Hasan made these statements after the food aid handover program at Kampung Sungai Tiram, Ulu Tiram on Saturday (Jan 13).

He also highlighted that the aid distribution is being facilitated by the Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (Yadim) and several Muslim NGOs in the Johor Baru area.
