SEREMBAN: State Education director Datuk Dr Roslan Hussin has not received any letter on his appointment to the PKR’s central leadership council, says Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

Aminuddin, who is also PKR vice-president, said Roslan was still serving in his government post.

“He hasn’t received any letter (on his appointment). How can we say that he has accepted the offer to the central leadership council or if there is one in the first place?

“It can also be that there is someone else with the same name. Just like me, there may be others with the name Aminuddin bin Harun,” he said when met after chairing the state exco meeting at Wisma Negri.

When announcing minor changes at the top level of the PKR leadership on May 26, party information chief Fahmi Fadzil said that one Datuk Dr Roslan Hussin was one of three new faces in the MPP.

Following the announcement, the state Perikatan Nasional questioned if the ban on senior civil servants holding positions in political parties had been lifted.

State Perikatan chief Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker said the Education Ministry needed to explain as the state Education director had been receiving congratulatory messages on social media concerning his appointment.

Mohamad Hanifah said the Madani federal government, which has been emphasising transparency and an efficient administration, owed the people an explanation as to how this could have happened.

Aminuddin said if the Roslan referred to by Fahmi was the state Education director who then accepted the appointment, then this was wrong.

“If he accepts the appointment to the council, then he would have made a mistake.

“In this case, he neither received a letter (on his appointment) nor accepted any appointment.

“In short, there is no black and white,” he said, adding that the state Education director deserves to be treated fairly.

Aminuddin added that although he was the state PKR chief, he had no knowledge of appointments to the council.
