    New Cabinet members pledge to fulfil mandate

    KUALA LUMPUR: Members of the administration are committed to providing their best services after the Cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, with those taking on new portfolios looking forward to the new challenges they will face. Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying described her new role as a new challenge and vowed to do her best to shoulder the responsibility and provide the best service to the people.

    Likewise, Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz congratulated those newly appointed and expressed his eagerness to work with the new Cabinet line-up. “Thank you, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, for giving me the confidence and trust to continue leading the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (Miti). Insya-Allah, I will continue giving my utmost commitment to ensure the Malaysian economy expands inclusively and remains competitive so that the benefits can be enjoyed by all strata of the Malaysian society,” he said.

    The Health Ministry welcomed Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad as the new Health Minister, expressing hope that under his leadership, the ministry will continue to provide excellent health services while Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu expressed his desire for the new Cabinet to meet the Prime Minister’s expectations.

    Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar expressed readiness to work with his new deputy and hoped to uphold Islamic teachings, adding that he looked forward to working on the agenda of Al-Falah transformation. On the other hand, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said congratulated M. Kulasegaran on his appointment as her deputy. She also thanked Ramkarpal Singh for his efforts and dedication in working together to realize law and institutional reforms.

    New Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Public Utilities, Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir described his switch of portfolios as a new challenge and expressed readiness to work together with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Public Utilities Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof. He also expressed confidence that the Cabinet reshuffle could further enhance the performance of the Madani government.

    V. Sivakumar, who was dropped as Human Resources Minister, thanked all staff of the ministry for helping him and congratulated former Deputy Finance Minister II Steven Sim Chee Keong for replacing him.- Bernama
