Lim Siew Khim, the only woman in the state exco line-up and Sungai Pinang assemblyman, believes she is qualified for her new role. As the Penang social development, welfare and non-Islamic religious affairs committee chairman, Lim expressed gratitude to Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow for his trust in her. She aims to promote a harmonious society and ensure the well-being of Penang people on a broader scale than before. Lim, who is serving her third term, highlighted her experience as a former member of the Penang Island City Council as a strong foundation for her new position.
Datuk Seri S. Sundarajoo, a newcomer and Penang housing and environment committee chairman, plans to address housing issues. Retiring at 60 to engage in social work, Sundarajoo accepted the opportunity to enter politics as a platform for serving the people. Drawing on his experience as a former developer, Sundarajoo emphasized eco-friendly practices in his previous projects, such as preserving greenery and replanting trees. He also expressed his commitment to housing projects on the mainland and continuing the affordable housing legacy initiated by the previous exco member for housing, Jagdeep Singh Deo.
Fahmi Zainol, the newly appointed chairman for agrotechnology, food security, and cooperative development committee, began his role by meeting all eight Village Community Management Councils (MPKKs) in his Pantai Jerejak constituency. Fahmi, who previously served as a Seberang Prai city councillor, sought fresh perspectives and feedback from the MPKK members, acknowledging their important role in community work. The MPKK representatives were from Sungai Nibong Besar, Sungai Nibong Kecil, Sungai Nibong Pantai, Mahsuri, Kampong Jawa, Jalan Tengah Selatan, Jalan Tengah Utara, and Mayang Pasir.
Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid, Penang Deputy Chief Minister I and Batu Maung assemblyman, highlighted the duty of strengthening national unity and driving Penang’s economy. He is responsible for Islamic development, education, and national unity. Mohamad previously served as a rector at Kolej Islam Teknologi Antarabangsa Pulau Pinang (Kitab).
Penang Deputy Chief Minister II Jagdeep Singh, who now heads the human capital development, science, and technology committee, expressed anticipation for the new challenge. Formerly the Penang local government, housing, town, and country planning committee chairman, Jagdeep Singh is the Datok Keramat assemblyman.
