Deputy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir announced that the creation of the new Energy Transition and Public Utilities Ministry is a reflection of the government’s emphasis on renewable energy. He expressed his excitement at the opportunity to work alongside Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who is leading the ministry.
Formerly the deputy local government development minister, Akmal Nasrullah expressed his hope for the continuation of the Task Force on Private Housing and Abandoned Projects (TFST) to aid home buyers affected by abandoned housing projects during a site visit to the Johor Baru City Council’s water pump house at Kampung Mohd Amin on Tuesday (Dec 12).
He described TFST as something that is personally important to him, as he had been entrusted by Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming to oversee some of the task force meetings. Despite acknowledging that the task should ideally have been given to the minister, he was grateful for Nga’s guidance and opportunities to chair the taskforce meeting.
Akmal Nasrullah expressed his belief that the new Cabinet line-up would enhance the unity government’s performance in the future. He emphasized that the reshuffle would provide a greater focus for the country moving forward.
