SEKINCHAN: Ng Suee Lim, the incumbent assemblyman of Sekinchan, has announced that he will be defending his seat in the upcoming Selangor state election. The announcement was made by DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke during the Sekinchan DAP’s fundraising event on Saturday (July 15) evening.
“He will be defending the seat for the fifth consecutive term,” Loke revealed. He further praised Ng for his contributions towards the development of Sekinchan throughout the years as the assemblyman.
Ng Suee Lim’s efforts have transformed Sekinchan into a vibrant rice bowl and a popular tourist attraction in Selangor. He has become synonymous with the town, and we are proud to have him defend the state seat in the upcoming election,” Loke added.
Loke also expressed concerns regarding Perikatan Nasional’s intention to challenge the Unity Government and destabilize the Federal Government through Selangor. However, he assured that the Unity Government would not allow Perikatan to make any progress in their efforts.
“We will unite and strive to ensure that our country remains inclusive under a multi-racial government. Therefore, it is crucial that you vote for Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional candidates,” Loke urged the audience.
Loke emphasized that both Pakatan and Barisan leaders are united in their commitment to maintaining the nation’s stability. He highlighted Ng Suee Lim’s various roles as an Opposition assemblyman, state government assemblyman, and state legislative assembly Speaker.
“There is only one role that he has not played, and if the Unity Government wins in Selangor, the DAP will propose his appointment as an executive councillor,” Loke stated.
Notable figures present at the event included Bandar Baru Klang incumbent assemblyman Datuk Teng Chang Khim, Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin, and Sungai Besar Umno chief Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos.
The DAP is expected to defend all 16 seats it won in the 2018 general election.
