    Nga proposes granting Klang city status, according to reports

    KLANG: Klang will soon become a city.

    Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming announced this at an event organised by the Klang Municipal Council on Wednesday (July 26).

    “The Cabinet has agreed to upgrade the status of Klang to that of a city,” said Nga.

    The minister also announced various upgrading works that would be carried out and the funds allocated for them.

    The 133-year-old town had met all the criteria needed to attain city status and its municipal council will be upgraded to a city hall before the year ends, he added.

    KLANG: Klang is set to become a city, according to Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming. Speaking at an event organized by the Klang Municipal Council, Minister Nga revealed that the Cabinet has approved the upgrade of Klang’s status. This announcement was made on Wednesday (July 26). The minister also disclosed plans for several improvement projects, along with their allocated funds. Klang, which has a history of 133 years, has fulfilled all the necessary requirements for city status. Additionally, its municipal council will be transformed into a city hall by the end of the year.
