    Ngeh's house arson suspect not member of political party, say Perak police

    The man detained in Shah Alam for suspected arson at the residence of Beruas MP Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham, is not a member of any political party, according to Perak police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri. Comm Mohd Yusri told Bernama that they are still investigating the motive behind the attack.

    Comm Mohd Yusri also mentioned that police have not yet obtained the results of the urine sample taken from the man, who is in his 30s. The Perak police chief also stated that on Friday (Jan 12), the man was arrested at 4am and would be remanded until Tuesday (Jan 16) to assist in the investigation. Police seized two handphones from the suspect and confirmed that he did not have previous criminal records.

    In the early morning incident on Wednesday (Jan 10), a Molotov cocktail was thrown onto the porch of Ngeh’s house, resulting in a fire that damaged three cars.
