IPOH: Police have arrested nine foreigners comprising eight men and one woman, after a foreign man was found dead with stab wounds and a head injury at a construction site in Taman Menglembu here early Tuesday (June 18) morning.
Ipoh district police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the nine foreigners, aged 21 to 41, were arrested at 5am.
Preliminary investigations revealed the body of the man was found at 1.23am.
“The victim was a foreigner in his 20s to 30s. His identity is still being ascertained pending confirmation from his employer,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
He also said checks revealed blunt force trauma to the left side of the victim’s face and six stab wounds and scratches on the body.
An autopsy conducted at 11am confirmed that death was caused by blunt force trauma to the head.
“The police are urging those with information on the case to come forward and provide their statements to investigating officer ASP Chua Sze Yuan at 012-619 5312 or any nearby police station,” he said.
The nine foreigners have been remanded for a week till June 24 to facilitate the murder investigation, he added. – Bernama
