SHAH ALAM: There is no compromise with any Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) educational institution involved in bullying cases among students, said Mara’s chairman.

Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki (pic) expressed his disappointment after another incident involving students at public universities.

According to a report by Sinar Harian, he stated, “There is no lesson learned from past cases that resulted in death.”

“If any bullying occurs in Mara educational institutions, including Mara Junior Science Colleges (MRSM), there will be no compromise. I have made my stance clear: ‘You Touch, You Go!’ (You Bully, You Leave!).”

Previously, Asyraf Wajdi assured that Mara would not tolerate any bullying incidents detected among MRSM students.

He stressed that they would not cover up any misconduct by students, even if they are children of prominent individuals.

On Wednesday (Oct 31), the armed forces reported that a second-year cadet officer at the National Defence University of Malaysia’s military training academy in Sungai Besi was allegedly a victim of bullying and abuse recently.

The victim, an engineering student, was reportedly bullied by senior students, and the case was uncovered after routine checks by the supervising trainers, who noticed injuries on the victim’s body.

The armed forces also stated that strict disciplinary or legal action would be taken against those involved if found guilty.

Meanwhile, Asyraf Wajdi said the strictest measures would be taken if bullying occurs at Mara educational institutions.
