In response to recent claims by Bersatu supreme council member Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof, Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal denied the rumor that 10 government MPs will switch their allegiances to Perikatan Nasional.
Wan Ahmad dismissed Mohd Redzuan’s claims, stating, “I don’t see any truth in what Mohd Redzuan says. He is not an MP. This is just some talk being thrown around, some kind of psychological warfare.”
Furthermore, Wan Ahmad speculated that the rumor may have been generated by someone within Bersatu attempting to console themselves and urged party members to report any attempts to poach MPs to the top leadership so that they can take appropriate action, including involving the police or filing anti-corruption reports.
Additionally, Wan Ahmad criticized the current government for being undemocratic by neglecting to provide Opposition MPs with constituency development funds. He claimed, “They stopped our MPs from receiving allocations that are rightly ours.”
Mohd Redzuan had previously claimed on Saturday (Dec 2) that at least 10 government MPs, including those from PKR, may join Perikatan due to disappointment with the current government administration, but declined to name the MPs involved. On Tuesday (Nov 28), Bukit Gantang MP Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal joined the list of Opposition MPs backing Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, along with four other Bersatu MPs: Kuala Kangsar MP Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid, Labuan MP Datuk Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman, Gua Musang MP Mohd Azizi Abu Naim, and Jeli MP Zahari Kechik.
