KOTA ISKANDAR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated that Malaysia did not make any special offerings to persuade billionaire Elon Musk to quickly decide to invest in the country. The Prime Minister mentioned that many countries are attempting to attract Musk to invest in their respective nations. “I was asked this question by the chief editor of an international magazine who wanted to know what we provided to convince Musk to make a swift investment decision in Malaysia,” Anwar expressed. He further emphasized that all their existing policies are already in place. However, through the unity government, Malaysia can offer four years of political stability, economic clarity, and their Madani economic policies. Moreover, he mentioned the country’s ease of doing business. Anwar delivered these remarks during the 2024 Budget Roadshow held in front of an audience of about 200 people on Friday (Aug 25).
Musk, who serves as the CEO of Tesla, expressed his interest in establishing a Tesla office and service centers in Malaysia during a meeting with Anwar last month.
