Residents in Sabah’s east coast Tawau, Semporna, and Lahad Datu districts can expect to see low-flying aircraft in their areas starting next week. The Malaysian Air Force has announced that these aircraft are part of its Kelawar Exercise Series 14/23, which will be conducted from July 18th to 26th under Ops Pasir. In a statement issued on July 14th, the Air Force explained that the exercise aims to enhance the preparedness and efficiency of its EC 725 AP aircraft. The tactical flying training during the exercise will specifically focus on nighttime conflicts and threats, ensuring that the Air Force is well-equipped to handle such situations. The Air Force has assured the public that the low-flying aircraft are operating within designated training zones, and there is no cause for alarm.
