    Number of flood victims in Johor slightly drops, Kota Tinggi remains badly hit

    According to the state disaster management committee, the number of flood victims in Johor has slightly decreased from 7,511 people at 4pm to 7,344 people at 8pm on Monday (Jan 8). These individuals come from 2,046 families and are currently being accommodated in 49 temporary relief centres (PPS) across six districts.

    Kota Tinggi remains the district most severely affected, with 4,652 evacuees housed in 26 PPS. Kluang follows with 1,613 victims, Johor Baru with 903 victims, Kulai with 86 victims, Segamat with 73 victims, and Pontian with 17 victims.

    Four PPS have recorded more than 300 victims each, with SK Taman Kota Jaya hosting 382 people and Dewan Taman Kota Jaya accommodating 376 people in Kota Tinggi. SK Batu 3 in Kluang has 353 people and Dewan Kampung Jaya in Johor Baru has 350 people.
