According to the Social Welfare Department’s Info Bencana portal, the number of flood victims in Kelantan has increased to 4,530 people from 1,462 families as of 8am on Monday (Dec 4). This is up from 4,398 people from 1,405 families last night.
Out of the total number of victims, all are currently taking shelter at 12 relief centres in Pasir Mas and Tanah Merah.
In Pasir Mas, 11 relief centres are operating, including SK Gual To’Deh, Rantau Panjang, which houses 813 victims from 264 families. Meanwhile, SK Gual Tinggi is sheltering 898 victims from 293 families, and SMK Baroh Pial, Rantau Panjang has 634 victims from 225 families. SMK (Agama) Lati has 88 victims from 23 families, and Mukim Padang Licin Mosque is housing 116 victims from 45 families.
Other locations include SK Gual Periok, which is sheltering 269 victims from 79 families, and SK Sri Kiambang, where 345 victims from 107 families are being housed. SK Chicha Tinggi currently has 261 victims from 72 families, and SK Lati is providing shelter for 223 victims from 62 families. SMK Gual Periok has 153 victims from 41 families, and SK Sri Rantau Panjang 2 is housing 711 victims from 243 families.
Meanwhile, in Tanah Merah, the Padang Kijang community centre is currently sheltering 19 victims from eight families.
On another note, the Public InfoBanjir portal reported that Sungai Golok in Pasir Mas is currently at the danger level, measuring 9.97 metres, while Sungai Golok in Kuala Jambu, Tumpat, is at the alert level, with a measurement of 2.30 metres. – Bernama
