PETALING JAYA: Nurul Izzah Anwar, the former Permatang Pauh MP, has announced that she will be filing a police report against a slanderous posting made about her.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the daughter of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim revealed that her legal team will lodge the report sometime after the Chinese New Year celebrations.

“Let’s not forget the audit by ProKhas on the Economic Stimulus Implementation and Coordination Unit Between National Agencies (Laksana), only then the true story will be concluded.

“Don’t forget that spreading false information and slander is a violation under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. Thank you to those who are reading,” she said Sunday (Feb 11).

An anonymous poster on Facebook had accused Nurul Izzah of being appointed as an advisor to the National Economic Action Council (Laksana) and receiving a salary of RM35,000. The post also falsely claimed that Nurul Izzah was allocated two staffers, who were paid between RM5,000 and RM20,000.
