According to Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, all district police chiefs (OCPDs) are being urged to keep an eye on the activities of officers and personnel in their respective areas. They are being held accountable if any of their subordinates are living extravagantly beyond their positions and salaries.
Razarudin emphasized the importance of OCPDs not feigning ignorance and that those who do so are not fit to hold their post. He made these remarks during a special meeting with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) top brass and OCPDs of Peninsular Malaysia.
Supervisors have a vital role to play in preventing misconduct, Razarudin stressed. He also emphasized that OCPDs should not be passively waiting for information from CID chiefs.
Additionally, Razarudin called on all police commissioners, state police chiefs, and OCPDs to strengthen Regulation 3C of the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations 1993 to improve the quality of service delivery.
The recent occurrence of misconduct cases has influenced public perception, Razarudin acknowledged. He emphasized that there is no place for individuals engaged in corrupt practices in the police force and urged OCPDs to report disciplinary issues immediately.
He made these remarks during a special meeting with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) top brass and OCPDs of Peninsular Malaysia. He also urged OCPDs to report any disciplinary issues or misconduct by staff to their state police chiefs without delay.
