One person has been reported dead and there are fears that four others may have been buried alive in a landslide that occurred early Friday morning in Batu 54, Blue Valley, Cameron Highlands.
The assistant director (operations) of the Pahang Fire and Rescue Department, Ismail Abdul Ghani, stated that a distress call was received at 2:51am and the search and rescue operation is ongoing.
According to Ismail, there are three adult men and one adult woman still buried in the landslide, but their identities have not yet been confirmed.
The nine firemen who were initially dispatched to the location had to walk approximately 3km to reach the landslide site. – Bernama
