The IJM Toll Division is currently conducting a pilot test of the Open Payment Toll Collection System (SPT) on two highways under its operation, namely the Sungai Besi Expressway (Besraya) and the New Pantai Expressway (NPE).
In line with the government’s efforts to provide alternative payment methods for highway users, the initiative was launched on Saturday, August 26.
The SPT system enables highway users to pay tolls using debit and credit cards, as well as prepaid cards, in addition to the existing methods such as Touch ‘n Go, SmartTag, and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).
By introducing this system, users are provided with a new alternative for toll payment.
During the trial period, toll booths equipped with the SPT system can be easily identified through distinctive signs, which aim to assist motorists.
Motorists are advised to ensure that their credit card has sufficient balance for toll payment.
In the event of a transaction failure, motorists can opt for an alternative bank card or use the Touch ‘n Go card.
The IJM Toll Division anticipates that the implementation of the SPT system will improve convenience for highway users and streamline toll collection operations.
