Opposition members of Parliament in Kuala Lumpur walked out of the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (Feb 27).
They argued that the process by which Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was permitted to present a motion of gratitude to former Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Mustafa Billah Shah, while also welcoming His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, did not adhere to proper procedures.
During the ensuing chaos, Datuk Awang Hashim (PN-Pendang) was ejected and suspended for four days from the lower House for failing to comply with Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul’s instruction to sit down despite repeated warnings.
