Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim remarked that it is unusual for the Opposition to not be fervently challenging corruption and advocating for good governance. In his opening speech at the party’s congress on Saturday (Nov 25), he expressed his surprise at the current state of the Opposition in relation to these issues.
He stressed the importance of the Opposition being strong in the fight against corruption and pushing for good governance. However, he pointed out that this is not the case at present.
Anwar Ibrahim emphasized that addressing the issue of good governance is essential in order to effectively serve the people.
He highlighted that several Perikatan Nasional leaders are currently facing corruption charges in court, further underscoring the significance of the fight against corruption.
The two-day party congress commenced with the Wanita PKR and Angkatan Muda Keadilan congresses.
This congress holds particular significance as it is the first one to be held after Anwar Ibrahim’s appointment as the tenth prime minister on Nov 24, 2022.
