The Malaysia halal industry aims to support local businesses and promote their involvement in the global market. The Malaysia Halal Expo (MHE) 2023, running from September 1st to September 3rd, provides an opportunity for consumers to explore the world of halal products and for local business owners to seize available opportunities. The theme of MHE2023, “Empowering Local for Global Sustainability,” will highlight the skills, potential, and offerings of local halal businesses.
This year’s expo features 123 companies and organisations, including both Muslim and non-Muslim exhibitors, who are showcasing a diverse range of halal products across industries such as food and beverages, education, cosmetics, e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, tourism, banking and finance, as well as fashion. During the opening ceremony at the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Seri Kembangan, Selangor Domestic Trade and Cost of Living director Mohd Zuhairi Mat Radey, representing Deputy Minister Senator Fuziah Salleh, emphasized that MHE2023 serves as an inspiration for local business owners to expand their ventures globally.
“Today, we have more than 40 business delegations from Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Vietnam,” said Mohd Zuhairi Mat Radey. “We aim to achieve a retail sales target of RM4 million, which will facilitate more business ventures between locals and foreign delegates.”
The MHE2023 exhibition is open to the public from noon to midnight throughout September 1st to September 3rd. Visitors can explore various types of booths and engage in activities such as cooking demonstrations, make-up contests, latte art demonstrations, a giant inflatable playground, and a petting zoo. Prominent brands that participated in the exhibition include Mustika Ratu, Subway, DPIM, Public Bank, Affin Bank, and Air Selangor, among others.
