During the Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house hosted by Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, more than 12,000 individuals from various backgrounds gathered in Johor Baru on Wednesday morning.

Among the attendees was 17-year-old M. Yugasangkary and her family, who arrived early at the Mentri Besar’s official residence in Saujana at 8.30am after learning about the event through a Facebook post.

Yugasangkary expressed her plans to return to the open house in the future, showcasing her enthusiasm for the festive occasion.

On the other hand, 20-year-old cook Mohd Anas Sabri highlighted how the open house provided him with a glimpse of the celebratory Hari Raya atmosphere since he couldn’t make it back to his hometown in Perlis with just a short holiday break.

Despite missing out on his hometown celebration, Mohd Anas found joy in attending the Mentri Besar’s open house and appreciated the unexpectedly vibrant festive ambiance.

The open house featured an array of culinary delights from more than 30 food stalls, offering guests a delectable experience.

The event was graced by the presence of members of the Johor Royal family, prominent state officials, and influential community leaders.

Notable figures such as Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Iskandar Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, and Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Ibni Sultan Ibrahim attended the event, alongside state executive councillors and other dignitaries.

The gathering also included State Secretary Tan Sri Dr Azmi Dr Rohani and state assembly speaker Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi, adding to the prestige of the occasion.
