In an operation called “Ops Noda,” the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) inspected a total of 4,568 party-goers in 70 entertainment outlets across Malaysia. The raids, which took place between 1am and 6pm on Monday, resulted in the arrest of 104 locals and 373 foreigners for various criminal and drug-related offenses.
Deputy Comm Fadil Marsus, the deputy director of Bukit Aman CID, revealed that 358 CID officers and 1,425 personnel members were involved in the raids, which were conducted in various states including Johor, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Pahang, Penang, Melaka, Sabah, Sarawak, Kedah, Negri Sembilan, and Perak. One raid also took place in Perlis. Additionally, Bukit Aman D7 conducted seven raids of their own on the same day.
The offenses committed by the entertainment outlets included operating without a valid entertainment license, employing Guest Relation Officers (GRO), testing positive for drugs, and not having valid identification documents. The raids resulted in the detention of 270 foreign women and 103 foreign men, along with the seizure of RM20,912 cash, 47 sound systems, 20 amplifiers, 53 microphones, 102 bottles of liquor, 12 DJ decks, and 154 receipts.
DCP Fadil expressed hope that Ops Noda Khas could have a positive impact on society by showing the seriousness with which the police, especially the CID, view crimes committed at certain entertainment outlets. He also urged those with information on any criminal offenses or immoral activities to contact the CID as soon as possible.
