In Bukit Aman’s efforts to combat smuggling, more than RM900 million worth of contraband has been seized in 2023, according to the director of the Internal Security and Public Order Department, Comm Datuk Seri Hazani Ghazali. From January 1 to November 30, a total of 7,033 seizures and operations were conducted. These efforts resulted in 5,099 arrests and the confiscation of goods valued at RM920,047,558.70.
Comm Datuk Seri Hazani Ghazali reaffirmed the department’s dedication to preventing the smuggling of goods, the unauthorized sale of controlled and subsidized items, and the protection of the country’s assets in order to maintain public security.
