The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has announced its commitment to presenting the report on its investigation into the management of Covid-19 for discussion during the third meeting of the second session of the 2023 15th Parliament, slated for October 9 to November 30.

In a statement released on Tuesday (August 22), PAC chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin revealed that five witnesses testified and provided clarifications during the second hearing on Covid-19 management, held on Tuesday.

She confirmed that these witnesses were the Health Ministry’s deputy secretary-general (finance), Datuk Seri Norazman Ayob, former secretary-general Datuk Seri Chen Chaw Min, former secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shafiq Abdullah, former director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, and former Medical Services Development division head Datin Seri Dr Asmah Samat.

“PAC expresses its gratitude to all the witnesses and greatly appreciates their attendance today, especially the main witness who has retired from the civil service,” she stated.

“PAC will now summon Pharmaniaga Logistic Sdn Bhd to provide their testimonies and clarifications regarding several issues related to defective ventilators,” she added. – Bernama
