According to Fahmi Fadzil, the Central Database Hub (Padu) is a revolutionary tool for data management in Malaysia. The Communications Minister pointed out that dealing with multiple public sector institutions can be cumbersome due to the need to fill out repetitive forms with similar information. With Padu, all the data is centralized, eliminating the need for repetitive data entry,” he wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday (Jan 2). He also emphasized that there are 455 public sector institutions in the country, including ministries, departments, agencies, state governments, federal and state statutory bodies, and local authorities.
Fahmi Fadzil also expressed his willingness to sign up for Padu and encouraged the public to do the same through the following link: https://www.padu.gov.my/.
During the launch of Padu at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated that the system is aligned with the national digital transformation approach. He also assured that qualified beneficiaries would be able to enjoy every government facility. Padu is a national integrated socio-economic database that consolidates data from various government departments and agencies. It contains the profiles of Malaysian nationals and permanent residents, providing a comprehensive understanding of the socioeconomic status of every household in Malaysia.
Registration for Padu is open to the public from today until March 31. Users can update and confirm 39 personal details, including identification numbers, number of household members, and addresses. – Bernama
