KUANTAN: Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail (pic) announced that nearly RM74 million has been spent on 17 projects in Pahang to address water supply issues, which have been completed this year. These projects were carried out in various districts, including Lipis, Temerloh, Bentong, and Raub.
Wan Rosdy stated that the state government is dedicated to resolving water supply issues in a timely manner and aims to have 90% of Pahang’s water supply problems solved by 2026. He made the statement in response to a question at the state assembly sitting on Wednesday (Dec 6).
In response to a question regarding the progress of water supply projects in the state, Wan Rosdy revealed that 93 out of the 217 projects under Phase One of the Pahang Water Supply Project 2021-2026 have been completed. Additionally, 37 projects are currently under construction, while 87 are in the preliminary planning stage.
Wan Rosdy also disclosed that RM17.8 million has been allocated to address supply disruption and low water pressure issues in several areas in Kuantan. This project will involve 3,900 user accounts in Kampung Darat Sekolah, Kampung Jeram, Kampung Bukit Gelugor, and Taman Batu Hitam. The project is set to be implemented by Pengurusan Aset Air Bhd (PAAB) and is scheduled to commence in the middle of next year, with completion set for 2025. – Bernama
