PETALING JAYA: The wedding festivities of the Pahang Prince will encapsulate a vibrant display of tradition beginning Tuesday (Oct 22) at Istana Abdulaziz, says the Pahang Sultanate.

In a post on its official Facebook page on Monday (Oct 21), the Sultanate said that the royal matrimony of the Sultan of Pahang’s son Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah to his bride Tengku Natasya Puteri Tengku Adnan will begin with the Istiadat Meletak Kerja ceremony.

“We will witness the start of the ceremonies with a sequential firing of 16 cannon shots following Brigadier General Tengku Amir Nasser Ibrahim Shah’s proclamation at approximately 9.30am, concluding with a prayer,” it said.

The Sultanate added that at 6.30pm, Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah are scheduled to partake in the Yasin and Tahlil Recital and Doa Selamat at the Sultan Ahmad Shah Mosque.

“The solemnisation ceremony led by Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, the bride’s father, is set for Thursday (Oct 24) at 8pm at Balai Mahkota Istana Abdulaziz,” it said.

The Sultanate said the wedding will proceed with the Istiadat Berinai on Friday (Oct 25) and a Royal Reception on Sunday (Oct 27), both commencing at 8pm.

Live broadcasts of the Istiadat Akad Nikah, Istiadat Berinai, and Istiadat Persandingan will be viewable on large screens at Kuantan City Council Square and in Pekan Square, Pahang.

“The Pahang customs will continue through the Istiadat Santap Nasi Adap-Adapan, Istiadat Bersiram, and Istiadat Menutup Kerja on Oct 28 at Istana Abdulaziz.

The meal ceremony will begin at 4pm, with Tunku Azizah officiating, followed by the water ceremony and a prayer by Pahang Mufti Datuk Dr Asmadi Mohamed Naim. A tea ceremony will succeed the Istiadat Bersiram,” said the Sultanate.

It then said that Tengku Amir Nasser will conclude the celebrations by lowering the flag and another sequence of 16 cannon shots by the police, accompanied by prayers from the Pahang Mufti.

“Additional events will also enliven Kuantan City Council Square and Pekan Square throughout this period,” said the Sultanate.
