GEORGE TOWN: A police report has been lodged by a Pakatan Harapan lawmaker against Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. The report was made following allegations made by Muhyiddin accusing the unity government of being controlled by non-Malays. The lawmaker claims that these allegations by Muhyiddin amount to fear-mongering over issues related to the 3R (religion, race, and royalty).

The Pakatan Harapan lawmaker, who has chosen to remain anonymous, stated that such baseless accusations could potentially incite racial tensions in the country. They believe that it is irresponsible for a prominent political figure like Muhyiddin to make such inflammatory remarks, especially at a time when the nation is striving for unity and peace.

The police report further highlighted the need for immediate action to be taken against Muhyiddin, as his statements not only undermine the efforts of the unity government but also go against the principles of racial harmony and tolerance. The lawmaker emphasized that the unity government was formed with the intention of fostering inclusivity and equality, rather than being controlled by any specific racial or religious group.

Muhyiddin’s comments are seen as a deliberate attempt to divide the nation along racial lines. The lawmaker believes that it is essential for the authorities to investigate Muhyiddin’s allegations thoroughly and take appropriate action against him if necessary. The aim is to send a clear message that fear-mongering and attempts to sow discord within society will not be tolerated.

In light of this incident, the lawmaker called upon all political leaders to exercise caution in their public statements and avoid making baseless accusations that could potentially harm the unity and stability of the country. They stressed the importance of promoting dialogue and understanding among different ethnic and religious groups, as this is crucial for Malaysia’s progress as a nation.
