JEMPOL: Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu has claimed that Negri Sembilan, a state known for its wealth, is being poorly governed. During a ceramah at Felda Palong 2 on Wednesday (Aug 2), the chief of Negri Perikatan Nasional stated that despite its natural resources and strategic location, the state is not being properly managed by Pakatan Harapan, which is now allied with Umno.
Ahmad Faizal also suggested that the cooperation between Umno and DAP, a former member of Pakatan Harapan, is merely a façade. According to him, representatives from Umno have revealed that they have to pretend to be friends with DAP, while DAP members similarly act friendly in front of Umno. He questioned whether this kind of relationship could effectively govern the state after the elections.
Furthermore, Ahmad Faizal urged voters to give Perikatan a chance to serve and highlighted their competent candidates who can lead the state. He used Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s tenure as Prime Minister as an example of good governance.
Concerning the current national leadership, Ahmad Faizal stated that Perikatan was troubled, which is why Muhyiddin is traveling to all states involved in the upcoming state elections. Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu will hold their polls on August 12, with early voting taking place on August 8.
