Pakatan Harapan’s Nazri Abdul Rahman emerged as the victor in the Simpang Jeram state constituency in Johor. He secured a 3,514 vote-majority, receiving a total of 13,484 votes. His opponents, Perikatan Nasional’s Dr Mohd Mazri Yahya, obtained 10,330 votes, while Independent candidate S. Jeganathan received 311 votes.
The voter turnout in Simpang Jeram was reported to be 60.2% on Saturday. This election witnessed an increased majority for Pakatan Harapan as compared to the previous state election. Last year, the late Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub had won the seat with a majority of 2,399 votes.
