SHAH ALAM: Kota Damansara candidate Muhammad Izuan Ahmad Kasim from PKR, who is running under the Pakatan Harapan coalition, has stated that he will focus exclusively on issues and what he can offer to the people during his campaign.

The 32-year-old candidate emphasized that he will not discuss matters related to race and religion on his campaign trail.

“I will concentrate solely on finding solutions for the issues raised by the people of Kota Damansara.

“I understand that people have mentioned that I am not a local from Kota Damansara, and I am not pretending to be one.

“If given the mandate, I want the people to know what I can offer and assure them that I will do my best for them,” he stated during a ceramah held at Subang Bestari on Saturday (July 29).

Muhammad Izuan also revealed his tagline for the constituency, which is “Kota Damansara, Kota Kita” (Kota Damansara, Our City), and mentioned that he is dedicating ample time to meet and understand the concerns of the people.

“I would like to meet as many people as possible and be aware of the issues they bring up.

“For instance, this morning I visited the Kota Damansara PPR flats and discovered that faulty lifts are among the major concerns for the people. I will discuss this issue with the relevant authorities to find a solution,” he told the crowd.

PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Selangor caretaker mentri besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Kota Damansara incumbent assemblyman Shatiri Mansor, Paya Jaras incumbent and candidate Mohd Khairuddin Othman, as well as other PH and Barisan supporters, were also present during the ceramah.

In the meantime, Amirudin stated that the unity government, comprising four coalitions and 19 parties, represents a new phase of political consensus (permuafakatan politik) in Malaysia.

“With 148 seats, which form a two-thirds majority, this is a stable unity government,” he informed the crowd.
