The Education Minister, Fadhlina Sidek, stated that the Palestine Solidarity Week successfully conveyed its intended message of humanity, peace, and harmony to students. She explained that the programme took into account the students’ level of understanding regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Fadhlina emphasized that each school has its own dynamics, and it is the responsibility of the teachers to ensure that the message is effectively delivered through suitable activities.
Fadhlina further stated, “So, this is a clear message that the purpose of holding Palestine Solidarity Week was to uphold the nation’s stand and ensure that the message reaches all our students.” She made these remarks after attending the Palestine Solidarity Week programme at SMK Dato’ Ahmad Razali in Ampang. The event is part of the government’s response to defend the rights and freedom of the Palestinian people.
Palestine Solidarity Week began on Monday and will conclude today. The programme is being held in various educational institutions including schools, vocational colleges, matriculation colleges, and teacher training institutes across the country.
In addition, Fadlina addressed criticisms regarding the perceived lack of clarity in the guidelines for the programme. She asserted, “The guidelines are very clear. It became controversial because it was politicised and disrupted by external parties.”
