The state-owned stage bus concessionaire, Panorama Melaka, has introduced a new “bus-on-demand” service, as announced by Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh at Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) on September 15th.
With this cashless bus service, commuters will now have the convenience of hailing a bus and making payments through the “Kumpool Kasturi” app.
Providing coverage within a radius of seven kilometers from the vehicle-free zone, this service is expected to greatly benefit the Visit Melaka Year 2024 (TMM 2024) initiative, according to Ab Rauf.
The app will not only facilitate bus bookings but will also provide valuable information about popular tourist attractions and restaurants located along the bus routes.
Starting from September 16th, the bus service will commence operations by transporting passengers to the car-free zones in Bandar Hilir.
In addition, Ab Rauf also announced that the central location for TMM2024 will be the open space at Dataran Pahlawan.
By introducing this “bus-on-demand” service, Panorama Melaka aims to improve the overall mobility and accessibility for locals and tourists alike.
Moreover, the cashless payment system will enhance convenience and security for passengers.
This initiative aligns with the government’s goal of promoting sustainable and eco-friendly modes of transportation.
