Tapah Indian Community Demands Action Against Foul-Smelling Sewage Treatment Plant Near Primary School
The Indian community in Tapah, Perak, is urging authorities to address the issue of a foul-smelling sewage treatment plant situated adjacent to a primary school, according to a report by Malaysia Nanban. The community is concerned about the negative impact it has on the health and well-being of the students and staff.
Appalasamy, an activist, highlighted the significance of the three-storey SJK (T) Tapah and its importance to the Indian community. He expressed his frustration with the frequent release of foul-smelling waste from the plant into a drain in front of the school.
Despite ongoing demands from the community for the plant to be relocated or for the discharge to be diverted, no action has been taken so far. The residents are now seeking the attention of relevant authorities to prioritize the issue and find a suitable solution.

The ceremony between the chief’s nephew and a local girl was scheduled to take place at Vellaikkal mountain village in Tamil Nadu’s Velore district.
Village chief Shankar, who had gone to a nearby town to purchase items for the wedding, was detained by the police on allegations of alcohol consumption. Since the arrest was made over the weekend, Shankar was unable to secure bail and attend the wedding ceremony.
