PKR Youth deputy chief Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim stated that PAS has resorted to baseless claims about the unity government being “munafik” (hypocritical) because it cannot find fault with the administration’s policies and achievements. He also pointed out that their claim of economic sanctions against PAS-led states was easily disproved with facts. According to him, these tactics only serve to reinforce the perception of PAS as an extremist party.

Muhammad Kamil continued by saying that calling Pakatan Harapan “munafik” and an enemy of Islam that practices Israeli-style democracy only solidifies PAS’s image as an extremist party. He believes that the party manipulates religious doctrines to suit its interests and influence the minds of people, especially in the Malay Muslim community.

Earlier in the day, PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang made a Facebook post titled “Minda Presiden PAS: Cara Golongan Munafik menentang Islam diikuti Israel dan PH”.

Muhammad Kamil, who is also political secretary to the Finance Minister, claimed that PAS is resorting to desperate tactics as more and more Opposition MPs voice their support for the government and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He also noted that it’s challenging for Perikatan to attack the government on policy issues due to the improving economic figures and indicators, as well as increasing investment and strong confidence in the country’s administration.

As for the distribution of allocations, Muhammad Kamil dismissed the allegation that the government imposed economic sanctions against PAS-led states as a huge slander. He pointed out that the states’ allocation has increased compared to previous years, using Kedah as an example where the allocation this year was RM512.1mil compared to RM458.1mil the year before. He also provided figures for the other three Perikatan-led states of Kelantan, Terengganu, and Perlis, all indicating a year-on-year increase in allocations. – Bernama
