JOHOR BARU: PAS will be having a dialogue soon with its non-Muslim counterparts in Gerakan about the Hadith appreciation module, says Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.
The PAS president said his party was always in communication with Gerakan on all sorts of issues.
“We are always in touch and this is not the first time or issue that we (will be giving an explanation) about,” he said when asked in a press conference after attending a dialogue session with Pulai voters at Taman Tampoi Utama here on Sunday (Aug 27).
He was asked to comment on the “Imam Al-Nawawi’s 40 Hadith” appreciation module, which was said to have created anxiety among non-Muslims.
The implementation of the pilot programme will involve 61 National Religious Secondary Schools (SMKA) and 228 Government-Aided Religious Schools (SABK) nationwide.
Deputy Education Minister Lim Hui Ying had reportedly said that Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek gave an assurance at the post-Cabinet meeting on Wednesday (Aug 23) that the module would only be used by Muslim students.
“I understand the anxiety of the non-Muslim community on this issue. However, they do not need to worry because this module applies to Muslim students only and will not involve non-Muslim students at all,” Lim added in a statement.
